Lake Walkway Replacement for Watermead Parish Council

The schematic shows the proposal as it was placed before Watermead Parish Council to replace the rotting timber walkway with a recycled plastic structure which could take frequent innundation without being damaged.

We used two legs which were driven into the bed of the lake using a pontoon mounted post driver.  The central support for the path was provided by the truss arrangement which alos provided an aesthetically appealing structure. The lake edge was also protected using recycled plastic sections to minimise collapse from wash.

Completed in four weeks in September 2013 the structure has proved immensely popular with walkers and duck feeders alike.  During the 2014 floods the walkway was submerged for 10 weeks and suffered no ill effects.
